Into every life some rain must fall.  If it happens on your vacation, here are some ideas to keep you entertained.

Barnes & Noble book store at the North end has something going on most days. Activities are usually oriented toward children. Call for more information. 843-342-6693.

The Family Fun Center offers many activities from video games to virtual reality and more. All ages will enjoy this venue. 843-842-9990. Going Bananas is an arcade in the Mall at Shelter Cove. 843-686-6279.

Hilton Head has three movie theaters: Park Plaza Cinema, six screens (843-785-5001) the Coligny Theater, (843-686-3500) and North Ridge Plaza Theater, 10 screens (843-341-3800).

The Art Café lets you paint ceramics and fire them. 843-785-5525.

You can take classes in and create your own beaded jewelry at Artware Bead Bar, 1203 Main Street Village. 843-682-3400.

The Coastal Discovery Museum at the Chamber of Commerce building at the North end always has entertaining displays and video presentations about nature, Gullah culture and other subjects. 843-689-6767.

Go bowling at the AMF Main Street Lanes. 843-681-7750.

Indulge yourself at one of the many Spas on the Island.

Shoot some pool at the Brew Pub, Callahan's, Dosido's, The Drydock, The Lodge, Peckerhead Pub, Racks, or Triangle Billiards  . Note some of these have an adults only policy depending on time of day.

Take a dinner (or lunch) cruise on The Spirit of Harbour Town (843-363-9026) or The Palmetto Star (843-842-7889).

Locals go shopping at either the Mall at Shelter Cove or off island at Tanger Outlet Centers I and II.

Take the kids to the Mall at Shelter Cove, where there is a "soft" playground for the wee ones.

Or, try the Public Library on Beach City Road at mile marker 4 (follow the blue "hospital" signs and look on your left).

Take a dance lesson at Fred Astaire Dance Studio 843-681-6168.

Go to a Yoga class.  Click here.

Visit some of the many art galleries such as Wyland Endangered Arts, Smith Galleries, Morris and Whiteside or the Hilton Head Art League gallery.

Go wine tasting at the Island Winery and take home a bottle of wine with a Hilton Head label.
