Parasailing and water skiing

If you want to get a great aerial view of Hilton Head island and its environs, you can fly high in a parachute towed by a speed boat.  They put you in a harness, standing on a platform at the rear of the boat, and gently lift you Lifting off a parasail boat on Hilton Headup into the air.  Part of theFlying high on a parasail on Hilton Head island usual ritual involves the tow craft slowing and dropping the passenger in the water at least knee deep.  If you prefer to do without, for example if you are taking a camera up, just tell the crew not to dip youThe altitude you reach is typically 500 feet on 800 feet of cable.  There are minimum and maximum weight restrictions, so children often go up in tandem with a parent.  Each rider is up 10 to 15 minutes, but ask about the duration of your flight when you book.  A few operators offer single flights in slow times, but most now do tandems or even triples. If you want to go only as an observer, most operators offer a standby seat at a discounted rate, but only if the boat is not full of flyers.  Some companies that offer parasailing are listed here:

 Parasail Hilton Head also know as Palmetto Bay Parasail operates from the Salty Fare landing on Squire Pope Rd. 843-686-2200.

 Sky Pirate Parasail    843-842-2566 operates out of Broad Creek Marina.

Water skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, hydrobiking, stand-up paddle boarding and other water sports

There are a few companies offering these activities, among them:

 H2O Water Sports is located in Harbour Town (843-671-4386) in Sea Pines plantation. Offer water skiing, parasailing, stand-up paddle boarding, surfing and just about any other watersport.

Hilton Head Outfitters has paddle boarding rentals and instruction and canoe rentals. 843-785-2449. They operate on the Palmetto Dunes lagoon system, in very calm water.

Island Ace Adventure Tours has stand up paddle board rentals, tours and even paddle board yoga. Paddleboard rentals are weekly or half week only. 843-422-2930.

Island Water sports in the south Beach marina has banana boat rides for $25 per person - up to six people on board, and stand up paddleboarding instruction and rental 1 hour costs $40. 843-671-7007.

Jarvis Creek Water Sports rents hydrobikes and canoes at the north end Crazy Crab restaurant docks. The look like two kayaks with a bike on top. Availability subject to tides. 843-681-9260.

Live Oac offers wake boarding, tubing, knee boarding and water skiing from the north end, at the RV Resort and Marina. 1-888-254-8362.

Sky Pirate Parasail offers tubing and water skiing out of the Broad Creek Marina. 843-842-2566.
